Insomnia

When you want to sleep you can first relax your body like you’ve done today, bit by bit, just think about relaxing each part of you, the toes, the feet, the ankles, the legs, the waist and chest, the shoulders and back and arms and hands and then the throat and all the facial muscles.

And when you’ve relaxed each and every part of you, just imagine that you’re at the top of that beautiful staircase that takes you down to your special place, and feel yourself becoming more relaxed, sleepier and heavier and calmer.

Count yourself down the stairs and when you reach the bottom just let the stairs and the everyday world fade away, and let your mind relax, let it go, as you begin to imagine a warm mist surrounding you, a warm, comfortable mist, all around you.

And through mist you can just drift and let your mind wander where it will. Don’t try to think but watch your mind as a distant observer. Look for the images that are brought up from your subconscious mind, floating and drifting gently up. Floating and drifting, softly and gently.

And as your mind floats and drifts you float and drift into a warm, comfortable feeling. You feel safe, secure, comfortable, relaxed and happy. Just go where your mind takes you, drift and float. Feeling sleepier and more relaxed and comfortable than every before.
