Numerology Basics

From the Complete Illustrated Guide to Numerology ~~~

"Numbers, it is believed, were first used before words. Modern scientists and archeologists studying the ancient world have found traces of evidence to support this theory in the form of notches carved on wood and stones, and primitive forms of the abacus (a system used for counting). Numbers have always been teaching people about life.

To a Numerologist, numbers are representatives of nature that can expand your mind and offer philosophical, psychological, and scientific insighs on life. Numbers can be interpreted as energies or vibrations, constantly changing and adapting to the world they represent.

You can discover the power of numbers in your own life, from matters of the heart, your work, or other areas of everyday life. Equally, you can see the world at large through art, music, science, and literature. By applying your logical mind and your inner wisdom to interpret numbers, you can develop your intuition. Numerology can help you to understand what can be gained from your journey through life and inspire you to unravel its inner mysteries."

You can see from the above, that numerology can help us better understand many facets of our lives. Here is the basic formula:

1 ~ A - J - S

2 ~ B - K - T

3 ~ C - L - U

4 ~ D - M - V

5 ~ E - N - W

6 ~ F - O - X

7 ~ G - P - Y

8 ~ H - Q - Z

9 ~ I - R

You will be referring back to this chart quite a bit!

We start with our Personality Number, which is broken down from the day in the month on which you were born.

For example, I was born on the 23rd, so I add the 2 + 3 and come up with 5 ... Then I look in the book under personality numbers and look up the number 5, which tells me:

"This number highlights movement, and you may enjoy dancing and traveling and need constant change to keep your mind stimulated. Perhaps you are changeable and restless sometimes. Life fascinates you, and although you can be adventurous, you may also be addicted to searching for the spark in everyday life. Perceptive and clver, you like to know the facts about life, but you can also be sceptical sometimes. you love being verbal, and your vivaciousness lights up people's lives."

Next step... go back to the Divination Class discussion, and tell me your personality number. I'll type in the related info for you :) Then, we'll move on to our Life Path Number!

This would also be a good time to start a chart to keep track of all you learn about yourself! A Personal Organizer might look like this:

Date of birth (Personality #)
Whole Date of birth (Life Path #)
Month number (Collective #)
Full name on birth certificate (Karma #)
Vowels in your full names (Soul #)
Consonants in full name (Childhood #)
First name (Major Goal #)
Middle name
Other names
Surname (Family #)
Birth certificate number
Social security number
national insurance number (UK)

This list will be expanded upon as we get further into the class.

And yes, we will get to know a lot about each other in this class. Don't worry, we all have good AND bad qualities :)

Here's the breakdown of how to find each of your numbers...

Life Path Number - Add up all the numbers in your date of birth

Soul Number - Add up all the vowels in the full name on your birth certificate (if you do not have a birth certificate, use the first full names by which you were first known)

Childhood Number - Add up all the consonants in your full name on your birth certificate (or in the full names by which you were first known)

Karma Number - Add up all the names on yuor birth certificate or the full names by which you were first known

And then there is a special significance to Each of Your Names, so add up each of your names on your birth certificate individually

And there is a significance to Changing Your Names, so add up numbers for your nicknames or different last names by marriage, etc.

Universal Year Cycle - to find your current Universal Year number, add up the current year you are in - i.e., 2003=5

Personal Year Cycle - add the day and the month of your birth to the year of your last birthday

And that's it! Once you've got all these numbers filled in, there is a whole world of numbers to discover for yourself! We'll look at these in numerology class after everyone is caught up to this point!
